Event Details

International Women's Day on Monday March 8th is a time to recognise the contribution, achievements and sisterhood of women all over the world. It's also an opportune moment to remember the challenges that many women still face in less fortunate communities around the world. (70% of the world's poor are women, and 75% of the civilian victims of war are women and children).

There are two events to join in on this day. Firstly, there's a walk across the bridge, happening simultaneously in cities around the world and organised by leading women's organisation Women for Women International. In Sydney that bridge walk starts at 11am and you can look here on their website for more details. They are asking "women worldwide to unite in building the bridges of peace for our future".

Secondly, after the Bridge walk, Gina Lazenby is co-hosting a Women's Gathering with lunch in Nicky Harper's beautiful home in Vaucluse. We both extend a warm invitation to any women (having participated in the Bridge walk or not) to join us for lunch, a circle gathering and a discussion of the current rise of the feminine. Gina says "I've travelled the globe attending and hosting many women's gatherings. There is something magical happening right now as more women are stepping forward into bigger and new roles of leadership. There is a sea change happening and it's very empowering to understand more about what we are a part of".

Read Gina's blog woman-at-large for inspiring stories about women. Gina was also celebrating International Women's Day here in Sydney last year.

The Bridge walk starts at 11am, with an estimated finish at 1pm.  We then plan to hot-foot over to Nicky's lovely and spacious home in Vaucluse for lunch, discussion, connection and networking for a couple of hours. Stay around for the afternoon if you can.  On these special days it's important for women to gather - the connections we make are extremely powerful and nourishing. Gina has hosted dozens of gatherings for women all over the world, as well as Business Wisdom Retreats in her UK retreat home,  and finds the same desires to connect, share and support each other, everywhere.

Do please join Nicky and Gina for lunch on Monday. The payment covers the cost of a simple & delicious lunch with remaining funds to be donated to Women for Women International.
